When the Free Woman Project was born, there was one mission in mind: empower women to cultivate self care. Over the past year, I have seen time after time how the power of community is vital in empowering women to hold space for one another to share their stories.

On July 27th, Pop Up at 8th opened their space for twelve women to join us for an intimate self care experience. I was awed by how these women embraced vulnerability. We talked about navigating complicated relationships, maintaining healthy boundaries, being honest about our self care practices and what we need to let go of and make room for.

The most important realization I had after our afternoon of journaling and conversation was this: while the Free Women Project provides space, resources and tools for women to cultivate self care, it is the women we serve that are driving our mission.

A special thank you to the ladies at Pop Up at 8th (Eighth & Style) for creating a safe haven for a community of women, uplifting our community and inspiring us to take leaps and lean into opportunities that bring our dreams into reality.
